Being ‘Bitter’ May Mean Sweet Victory

One thing is for sure about Susan Bitter Smith. She’s ready, and willing, to pick the kind of fight we will need to knock out a not-so-offensive character like Harry Mitchell. Some conservatives will balk at the former Scottsdale City Councilwoman’s reputation for practicing “gutter” politics.

The truth is though this is EXACTLY WHAT WE NEED TO BEAT MITCHELL AND THE LIBERALS WHO ARE DESTROYING AMERICA.

Earlier this year, Sonoran Alliance criticized Bitter Smith for what’s becoming a popular topic of conversation in conservative circles right now: the fact that Bitter Smith, in 2000, hired a private investigator to dig up information about one of her opponents. Bitter Smith had her campaign volunteer, David Schweikert, deliver the information to Tom Liddy. It was a big deal at the time, and the liberals went on the attack. The commie pinko cartoonist at the Arizona Repugnant Steve Benson used the episode to call Susan Bitter Smith “Susan Gutter Smith.”

We know that if Susan, wins, Mitchell’s people will cry foul and whine like liberal coddled babies about this episode. But in our opinion the “Gutter Smith episode” actually showed us how hard BITTER SMITH WILL CLAW, FIGHT, AND USE ANY TACTIC – NO MATTER HOW SEVERE – TO DEFEAT MITCHELL’S ANTI-FAMILY AGENDA. There is nothing that she won’t do to get elected, and that actually does our hearts proud.

Make no mistake we have serious problems with Susan Bitter Smith. She’s a pro-abortion Republican. We call those RINOs. But we like her style, and the fact that she’s been able to line up the support of conservative heroes like Jean McGrath. When it comes to her “gutter” politics, we say: you go, girl! Do whatever you can to defeat Mitchell this November.

Schweikert Accountable to Nobody

We had high hopes for former Maricopa County Treasurer David Schweikert. Able to write himself huge checks ($250,000) for his race for Congress, David was spotted by EspressoPundit filming TV commercials. But apparently he’s planning on running a pure advertising campaign because he denied voters the ability to hear from him when he refused to participate in a Q&A session with PolitickerAZ.com.

It is too bad that Schweikert thinks he can go through this race without answering questions while other candidates are doing their best to outline how they’d represent us as conservatives in Congress. Denying the voters an opportunity to hear is not very conservative. It's liberal, and reflects an arrogance that only Harry Mitchell and the Democrats would demonstrate.

Former State Representative Laura Knaperek, on the other hand, answered the survey’s questions with precision and depth, winning Round 1 of “who is the best conservative.”
