Good Thing Hatch-Miller Dropped Out

Arizona Corporation Commissions Jeff Hatch-Miller and Kris Mayes have written a letter to Congress asking that legislators reject the free market by extending the liberal solar tax credits for companies like APS to build solar plants on the taxpayers’ back.

Hatch-Miller was a candidate for the CD-5 race, but dropped out. He probably realized that he in a deep field, he was one of the least conservative candidates, and that it would be unlikely he could win support.

Thankfully four of the five GOP candidates who are still running have voiced their opposition to the solar tax credits, choosing instead to leave energy investments where they belong: in the free market. The fact that Laura Knaperek, Susan Bitter Smith, Mark Anderson and Jim Ogsbury have embraced the free market on this important issue is a good sign for Republican primary voters.

We only wish David Schweikert had taken the opportunity to embrace the free market as well.
